This FM receiver designed to receive carrier current signals in the 200-350 kHz range from the power line that have been transmitted by a carrier current FM transmitter. Our AM88 or CCTR in the FM Mode may be used with this receiver to make a carrier current audio broadcast, intercom, audio monitoring and surveillance system that is hard to detect. The receiver consists of an RF amplifier stage with a bandpass input filter feeding a PLL FM demodulator and audio system. Audio output is an LM386 IC amplifier delivering 0.5 watt of audio. The receiver has a volume control and built in antenna coupling to the power line. FM carrier current operation is preferable in environments where power line noise may be a problem.
