These whip antennas can
be used for frequencies in the 30 - 900 MHz range and are recommended for
use with small transmitters, pocket scanners, HTs and for other applications
where a small antenna is needed. Gain of these antennas is nominally around
0 DB as they are quarter wave types. These antennas have a BNC male base connector.
They can be used for transmitters for short range applications in portable
work. Note that, as all quarter wave antennas, they need a ground plane to
work properly. The metal case used to house the transmitter or receiver may
be adequate if it is on the order of a quarter wave or more in size at the
operating frequency. These antennas have been tested to work well with the
projects that are mentioned for their application.
