LOW POWER TUNEABLE VHF TV TRANSMITTER

This transmitter kit is for constructing a flea powered VHF TV transmitter designed for use within a home to interface video devices with TV receivers, by placing the signals on an unused channel in the lower part of the VHF band, CH2 to CH6. No connections are needed to the TV receiver and this is handy when using one of the older sets lacking direct line input jacks for video and audio. It is continuously tuneable from 54 to 88 MHz (VHF CH 2-6 ) and may be set to an unused TV channel in your area. It accepts standard NTSC video and audio signal levels furnished by most consumer video equipment, such as DVD players, VCRs and camcorders. This transmitter is powered by a standard 9 volt transistor radio battery. This transmitter is designed for hobby and experimental purposes and is not meant for any kind of broadcast use, as it has a range of approximately 25 to 50 feet in the average home. The kit is easy to build and simple to set up. It is very suitable for educational use in learning how TV transmitters work. Picture and audio quality is excellent. Case, Mounting Hardware, and Antenna are sold separately.

This kit is described on Page 44 of the August 2003 issue of Nuts and Volts Magazine
