VIDEO MASTER PRIVATE CATV SYSTEM

This project consists of a distribution amplifier / power supply and one or more upconverters. The system converts output(s) of various video devices outputting on CH 3 or 4 to an unoccupied UHF channel(s) between 14 and 70. This allows selection of video source by the TV receiver's channel selector. Used with a home cable system, this allows simultaneous operation of a satellite dish, security system, TV or cable system, and VCR all simultaneously on the same cable. For example, security camera on CH 36, Satellite dish on CH 39 VCR on Ch 42, DVD on CH 45, etc. It effectively implements a private CATV system in the house. Each channel requires one upconverter. The distribution amplifier/power supply provides DC power for one to four upconverters. A 12V wall transformer powers the entire system, which is designed to operate continuously. Splitter/combiners are used to sum the outputs of the upconverters (one to four) on to one cable. Any number of TV receivers can be used on the system if suitable splitters and distribution amplifiers are used where needed to offset cable and splitter losses. This kit includes suitable enclosures.
